3rd Pink Saturday: Panagbenga 2009 (Baguio Flower Festival) – Session Road in Bloom

March 14, 2009

.
One of the main roads in Baguio (Session Road) was closed for a week – the last week. This was to give way for the mini stalls/stores to display their assortment of goods. This varies from food & drinks, weaved bags,  souvenir items, jewelries, and plants. So there’s lots and lots of them.
.

On the very last day of the event (night time), the whole family went to Session Road to enjoy. But aaaarrrrggggghhhhh! If you can only see the swarm of people. But I can’t blame them, just look at the pictures. Good thing it’s not that hot 🙂
.

I loved looking at the different kinds of flowers displayed. And taking into account the Pink Saturday – well, here are the ones I managed to take.

.

panagbenga-session-1

Aren't they just gorgeous? Oh my! They do say orchids are hard to care for.

.

.

.

panagbenga-session-6

I know the orchid is obstructing the pink flowers behind. But what beautiful obstruction, don't you think? So you don't mind then? 🙂

.

.

.

panagbenga-session-4

Name please? 🙂

.

.

.

panagbenga-session-5

Hhhmmm didn't notice when I took the picture that someone took a tiny bity bite on that lovely flower. I hope he/she's satisfied 🙂

.

.

.

What do you think?
.

Sorry, I don’t know their names 😦 But they’re so beautiful it’s hard to resist not to take a pic. I didn’t get to take a picture of every species of flower. I don’t think I’d be able to. But I did try to take the pictures as close as I can possibly get.

.

.

.

As promised on my previous post (Panagbenga 2009: Parade of Floats), Here are close-ups of the flowers I’ve taken during the Event.

.

Since it’s Pink Saturday, I posted the pink ones 🙂

panagbenga-floats-21

This one taken from the Egyptian-inspired Float.

.

.

.

panagbenga-floats-12

Remember this flower on the Gazebo Float?

.

.

.

panagbenga-floats-31

Oh look, there's that gazebo again at the back

.

.

Panagbenga means “Season of Blooming”.

.

Hope you enjoy!

.

.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Thank you again Miss Beverly.

Hello. Thank you for dropping by and making me smile with your comments.

Some greeted and gave such nice thoughts …

Some complimented my photos (thanks to the digi cam). 🙂 Really, those digital cameras with macros are really helpful 🙂 …

    — @ Bette & Kris (Tres Belle): Thank you for such compliments.Aaawww a postcard? Thanks. Digi cams really are helpful for an amateur like me 🙂 Oh and Bette, maybe next time you and your family will get to visit. There’s still next year 🙂

Some encouraged me to grow orchids!

I’m glad that these flowers, in their own little way have made you smile and enjoy even for just one day.

    — Yes, God certainly is indeed a wonderful artist! 🙂

@ Lynn (Vintage Nest), Gabriella, Charlotte: Thank you for telling me the name.

The name of the flower at the 3rd photo is an azalea bloomed in Holland. The first one is cymbidium.
