Pink Saturday: The Other Half . . .

No, I’m not talking about one’s spouse or partner. What I meant was the other half  project I was talking about on my previous post. The very reason why I only ended with half a pair of the pink slippers 🙂

And this is what happens when you ran out of yarn . . . Look at my thumb part. See that entire row of cream-colored yarn? Yes, I used my very last pink and I fell short 😦

You know, as much as I like the velvet ribbon, I don’t think it is working here. I should have used one that stretches. Maybe next time.

Also, I used cotton yarn for this project. I like how it looks and yes it feels soft. I would have used acrylic yarn for more warmth, but see, the only available of that type is a 4-ply one and it’s too thick/bulky for me. How I wish there were more choices available here. 😦

Weekly Challenge:

Speaking of sweetness, I didn’t get to participate last week. But there’s someone I remembered visiting for the first time and I thought: “Swweeeeewettttttt!” 🙂 I think it was 2 weeks prior. Have you stopped by Sherry of Creations From The Heart? Have you seen her teacup pincushions? Or what about the vintage baby shoe pin cushions (here are samples from her shop: baby shoe 1, baby shoe 2)? Adorable, I tell you. It makes your heart aches (in a good way). You know, if your wee one’s have outgrown their baby shoes, maybe she can transform it for you. Then again,  maybe you just like the pretty little teacups she has displayed in your home. You should ask her. 🙂

Notes:
1) These gloves stretches well. Well, compared to the pink slippers where you have to get the right measurements of one’s feet to really shape it. I think the gloves are much more versatile when we talk about the fit 🙂

2) Oh if only I can buy me a whole lot of yarns! Then I can experiment and create and create to my wee heart’s content! One can wish, right? 🙂
