Pink Saturday: The Other Half . . .

February 6, 2010

,

No, I’m not talking about one’s spouse or partner. What I meant was the other halfΒ  project I was talking about on my previous post. The very reason why I only ended with half a pair of the pink slippers πŸ™‚
,

The remaining yarns were spent with these stitches.
,

,

The picture above reminds me of candy. Yum! πŸ™‚
,

And this is what happens when you ran out of yarn . . . Look at my thumb part. See that entire row of cream-colored yarn? Yes, I used my very last pink and I fell short 😦
,

,

Here is the finished product!
,

And again, I only have half a pair of this glove LOL
,

,

I feel like my hand is wearing a pink mini dress πŸ™‚
,

Such a girly, girly, sweet ‘lil hand . . .
,

,

But watch out! It can be tough too.
,

Say, is this what you call girl power? πŸ™‚ . . . (Oooppssss, better tuck thatΒ  wee thread coming out LOL)
,

,

I’m not checking my nails, honest! πŸ™‚
,

You know, as much as I like the velvet ribbon, I don’t think it is working here. I should have used one that stretches. Maybe next time.
,

,

Also, I used cotton yarn for this project. I like how it looks and yes it feels soft. I would have used acrylic yarn for more warmth, but see, the only available of that type is a 4-ply one and it’s too thick/bulky for me. How I wish there were more choices available here. 😦
,

But all in all, what do you say dearest, do I get a thumbs up sign from you? πŸ™‚
,

,

Weekly Challenge:

Speaking of sweetness, I didn’t get to participate last week. But there’s someone I remembered visiting for the first time and I thought: “Swweeeeewettttttt!” πŸ™‚ I think it was 2 weeks prior. Have you stopped by Sherry of Creations From The Heart? Have you seen her teacup pincushions? Or what about the vintage baby shoe pin cushions (here are samples from her shop: baby shoe 1, baby shoe 2)? Adorable, I tell you. It makes your heart aches (in a good way). You know, if your wee one’s have outgrown their baby shoes, maybe she can transform it for you. Then again,Β  maybe you just like the pretty little teacups she has displayed in your home. You should ask her. πŸ™‚

Happy Pink Saturday!.

Thank you Miss Beverly for hosting this event.

================================
Notes:
1) These gloves stretches well. Well, compared to the pink slippers where you have to get the right measurements of one’s feet to really shape it. I think the gloves are much more versatile when we talk about the fit πŸ™‚

,

2) Oh if only I can buy me a whole lot of yarns! Then I can experiment and create and create to my wee heart’s content! One can wish, right? πŸ™‚

Happy Belated Pink Saturday Dear! Thank you for your visit and beautiful, heartfelt words. I cherish your words! My bloggy friends are the best ever and I love you all so much.

What a beautiful glove! It would be perfect for doing outdoor photography on a cold day. Normal gloves are such a hindrance, due to the fingers, when trying to work with tiny buttons on a camera. Your gloves would also make the photographer very, very stylish!! You do such beautiful work. β™₯

  11. February 7, 2010 10:21 pm

  25. February 12, 2010 4:00 am

    This is beautiful!!

  26. February 12, 2010 6:45 am

I am just in awe of those crocheted mittens! You may say you ran out of yarn, but they are tremendous! I could use them when typing. I used to crochet and determined last year to take it back up, but when I tried to crochet slippers, I found out I could no longer understand directions. Okay, I must try again. You have inspired me.
    Hugs,
    CurtissAnn

So sorry that I missed you yesterday. It seemed like the day just ran away from me! But, with this being β™₯Valentine’s Dayβ™₯ what better time for me to stop by to see your Pink Saturday goodies.

It’s been a long and dark winter up here near Canada so filling myself up with pink is my way on the weekend of chasing away the blues – not that blue isn’t a nice color, too☺

I β™₯ coming here. All the pink and all the girlie stuff just floods my brain and makes me want to do a happy dance right where I sit!

Those are so sweet! I’d love to have some…

Thanks so much for sharing. After all, isn’t sharing one of life’s greatest pleasures?

    β™«Happy Valentine’s Dayβ™«

  36. February 17, 2010 1:46 am

I am so glad you won Li and I look forward to working with you on your angel.
Thank you so much for understanding and compassion, but my art is my therapist and my Mother-in-love would really approve.
I am working on celebrating her life and not mourning her death. I have so many great times and fond memories to fill that space now. and love survives everything.
Hugs to you Li and talk to you soon.

  37. February 18, 2010 12:56 pm

Oh Li I’m so sorry I haven’t been to visit you. Is that really your little hand? It looks sooooo young!! I adore your half glove. I adore the ribbon around it, of course it’s pink : )
If you would like me to send you some yard from Canada, I would be pleased as punch. It wouldn’t weigh much, so let me know what kind and what colour OK?
Happy Belated Pink Saturday. I have been dealing with dentist all month. My first root canal. I was sooo scared. My third visit is next Wed. and hopefully I will be done. I told them it would have to be perfect so I can leave for Florida March 13th… I’m so anxious. I get to meet Mrs. Magpie, Smiling Sally, Jeanne, and so many more. I have gathered all kind of little surprises for them. I need some sunshine on my face : )
Sending you hugs from across the miles.
    Love Claudie

P.S. Are you watching the Olympics? If so Vancouver is where I left my heart.

  38. February 18, 2010 12:57 pm

Send you some “YARN” not yard. It’s full of snow, you wouldn’t want my yard right now LOL
