Blue Monday: Blues By Beansie :-)

September 21, 2009

.

A long, long time ago Miss Tina of Beansie Babbles (or as we fondly know her “Beansie”) held a contest for the upcoming Harry Potter Movie. It was a 4-day Potter Palooza!
.

And then, ‘lil ‘ol me who was visiting my Pinkie bloggy friends , yes including Miss Tina,  stumbled upon it. 4 days to represent the 4 Houses of School of Witchcraft and Wizardry 🙂
.

I was picked for Ravenclaw – guess that explains all the blues (the happy blues, I should say). But that is just an assumption. I wonder if every house winner get to receive these in their own color.

Miss Beansie created all of these (well except for the last two pics). And each one was wrapped in plastic for protection, and then all of them were neatly stacked.
.

I really am looking forward on the tutorial for the tissue holder 🙂 Wouldn’t it be great if it will be a post so we can all learn how to make it? I really think it will be a wonderful gift for our girlfriends 🙂 We just have to wait patiently 🙂
.

In the meantime, I’m eyeing for that frog and princess doll pattern. I can crochet – simple things but I’m really terrible at following patterns for I don’t know all the terms. Oooohhh but I am determined. Let’s hope I can finish a certain number of these dollies for little girls and little boys 🙂 Wish me luck!
.

==========================================
(I have seen all Potter movies and I enjoyed all of them. But guess there really was something on the first one. Like the young Potter, you just have to be amazed by all the magic! 🙂 And then having that feeling on the latest movie. But it feels short. I must be missing a lot – me not reading the books. Sad.)

    Hello my friend
Well I’m not a Harry Potter fan, my imagination doesn’t go that way, as for my hubby and boys…that’s a different story. THEY LOVE THEM ALL.
I’m not sure if you know it, but Randy and Colt wrote a book, science fiction. It’s called Demons at the Door. Harry Potter ish style but with computers, since my hubby is a computer engineer … it’s selling in our book stores here in Ottawa. I’m very proud of them. It’s also on AMAZON book site.
When you make those little kleenex holders, let me know. Do you keep them in your purse? I couldn’t tell by the picture.
    Cool post Li
Sending love your way as always.
    Love Claudie

First I want to thank you for visiting me today. It was actually my sister-in-law who made the ornaments. She asked me for scraps of fabric from my dress and one of the bridesmaids dresses. I had no clue as to what she was making until she gave them to us the following Christmas. I have had them ever since! Such cool blues you posted today!

I love all your great blues.

Fun blues here! We’re huge Harry fans at my house. We have read all the books and seen all the movies. We have a couple of the books on cd and we listen to them on very long road trips…really helps to pass the time away.

  13. September 22, 2009 10:18 am

Oh how fun. I love all those pictures with all the great BLUEness items. I wonder whether you’ll be getting the patterns too. I can follow crochet instructions too if they aren’t too complicated. I have only seen one Harry Potter movie.. :o( Maybe this winter when its cold and blowy out there we’ll rent them and have a Harry Potter weekend. Thank you for sharing…and it was so nice having you come by and visit. I hope you’ll be back again…and p.s. if you bring some banana muffins…I’ll have the hot coffee!

    Come again anytime 😉

I love all your little blue treasures. I don’t like to follow patterns either. Sometimes too complicated. I loved the one with the cat close to the bird. Really pretty blues for your post. Thanks for sharing.

I love your blues for today. My Grandmother could crochet up a storm, if she had one little mistake she’d undo the whole thing & start over. She lived with us while I was growing up. Sure wish I would have taken the time to learn how to do itmyself. I’ve tried a couple years ago….no patience! LOL Good luck and stay the course ;~)
    Thanks for the visit too!
    *hugs*deb

Oh what cute little things! I would like to be able to make things like that.

  18. September 22, 2009 9:15 pm

Oh my goodness.. I had to look twice! I did not expect to see this! LOL! I forget all about it, because it’s been a while! I am so glad you like them, and I’ll see what I can do about a tutorial of some kind. The project is very easy to DO, but explaining how by way of a blog sounds a little bit more complicated. It may take LOTS of pictures! I DID just finish my afghan last night! I will post it on this coming Pink Saturday post! I’m very happy with how it came out, and now am looking to WHICH project I should move onto next! I always have a few AT LEAST! (0; Anyways.. Happy Blue Monday to you, Li!! ~beansie

    Hi Li,
Wonderful blues and darling goodies. I am terrible at following crochet direction too. My grandma could just look at a pattern and make it. Takes me longer, and like you said, easier if you know the terms and how to use them.

Thank you for stopping by. Always so nice to see you.
    Have a wonderful week!
    hugs, Celestina Marie

  26. September 23, 2009 10:06 pm

What a fun gift Li! I’ve read all of the Harry Potter books and seen all of the movies. I think they’re fantastic. You really should read the books. I think they’re better than the movies.
    Have a wonderful week!!

  27. September 24, 2009 6:53 pm

Hi Li, what a fun post – that Beansie is the best!

Thank you for visiting me – I haven’t put it in my blog, but we’ve had some very big news which has put a bit of a “hitch in my giddyup”… my husband has lost his job here and we have to move.

This means I am packing, planning, plus working in the store – so I just haven’t had the wherewithall to be blogging much lately. I’m kind of in shock.

I am so grateful for faithful friends like you who visit and leave a comment. Your visit makes me appreciate the people in my life and feel comforted even though I am losing my home, shop, and the place I’ve lived for the last 11 years.

    Thanks again, xJ

hello dear friend, I left a message for you on my blog today.

I agree that the first HP movie was extra special. It was magical to see the world of magic visually for the first time, after reading about it. Movies 3 and 4 seem more gloomy and dark too. I prefer the books, but that hasn’t stopped me from watching the movies over and over!

  30. September 24, 2009 11:28 pm

I like your blog. Haven’t seen one just like it. I haven’t been blogging much, isn’t this new?
The little items are so cute. I am very simple in my crocheting but would also like to know how to do the tissue holder. We all need one of those. We are getting a wonderful fall rain today. Sat, I help with a 5k run sponsored by our Lions Club so hope it is a nice day then. It is also our school homecoming weekend – busy days. God is good to us and we are enjoying these days He gives us.

    Jennifer
