Pink Saturday: A Basket Full Of . . .
.
Flowers! . . . ok, ok, ok I mean flower hair clips 🙂
.
But see, these were my teeny weeny Easter baskets. I know, Easter celebration has already passed. Then again, every Sunday is called “little Easter”, right? And I think what Easter means for us should always be remembered anyway.
.
.
Now, back to these baskets. It’s all about egg hunting. To make a little twist in the hunt, I crocheted a few of these baskets and placed a special egg with the Easter message. Whoever gets to find them will receive something extra 🙂
.
I crocheted the night before the hunt and when Sunday came, I forgot to take pictures of them! Just imagine, instead of hair clips, an egg is placed inside :-). It was fun!
.
The kids kept the baskets but since I still have yarn left I thought maybe I can make one (or in this case, two) for me to keep.
.
.
How to make them: The basket is just a series of single crochet(SC). I started with 8 SC on the first round). And then you just increase the number for every round until you can fit the egg inside. This one has a series of: (yellow) 8 – 16 – 24 – (pink) 24 – 24 – (yellow) 24. Lastly, do a series of chains for the handle. You can make it as big as you like to hold some stuff! 🙂
.
P.S. Challenge: I’m introducing you to Tricia of Altered Schoolmarm. I remember her and the “shoe tree” where members of their church donated shoes for children. Oh and there’s also the Pink Saturday Easter tradition which I thought was fun and a little funny 🙂

They are adorable, what a lovely container for a small gift anytime! You are very talented, but I knew that! Mary
The baskets are really cute. And could be used for so many things. I’ve not had little ones around for egg hunts for some time but I do so enjoy the season to celebrate the Resurrection. And as per your comment on my page, yes, I am so thankful for being blessed with a Godly husband. I ask God to bless my children likewise. Now, I’m gonna find my crochet needles!
The hair clips, the tiny pink baskets, too cute! I love Easter decor it’s so sweet. Missed you.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your crocheted baskets are adorable. The vine you asked me about on my blog is called a clematis. Talk to you again soon!
Hello, Li.
I came over to for a visit after I saw your comment on my blog. Thank you for the encouraging note. And yes, you are absolutely right (about going to look for a feather and ending up with the hydrangea flowers) — God does that, doesn’t he. Not always what we expect, but he certainly knows how to surprise us.
I just love your little baskets. I do some knitting and I can’t imagine how you got those little baskets so perfect. They are beautiful! Hope you have a blessed day!

Hi Li, I never did finish my pink Saturday visits. I adore your Easter baskets in miniature. I agree, Easter should be remembered all year. Handmade is so special. I think you SHOULD have some to keep for yourself.
Have a great week.
Hugs, Jeanne

Just wanted to drop by and give you a cyber hug this morning. I took a break from the workers to blog, and I have to head back to St. Augustine to supervise in a few. Not sure when they will finish or I will return, but hopefully soon???
Sending you big hugs across the miles…
XO,
Sheila 🙂
